Ava Grace Nelson

Ava Grace Nelson, six-month old daughter of Nicole and Samuel Nelson passed away unexpectedly following a brief illness on January 2, 2020.

Ava was born June 25, 2019 in Salt Lake City, Utah. During her short time with us, she managed to touch everyone who knew her. Her magnetic smile and personality made sure her impact on this life was truly memorable. Her favorite thing to do was loving on her Mom, Dad, Brother, and Sisters. Her brother and sisters were always competing to see who could get the most smiles from Ava. She gave many smiles to all and so much love. She was always curious of other people, especially other babies. In the NICU at Primary Children's she always watched the other babies. The nurses said she was in charge of that room earning her the nickname of Gladys, the nosy neighbor. Despite her health issues and discomforts everyone always commented that she was the happiest baby they had ever seen.

Ava is survived by her parents, Samuel J. and Nicole A. (Driever) Nelson; sister, Paige N. Shutes; brother, Taybin J. Shutes; sister, Esme K. Nelson, all of Pocatello; maternal grandmother, Ann Driever of Chubbuck; paternal grandparents, Robert and Bonnie Nelson, also of Chubbuck and many aunts, uncles and adoring cousins.

Ava was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Jimmy E. Driever.

Funeral services for Ava will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Road. A viewing will begin at 10:00 AM and her interment will follow the services at Mountain View Cemetery in Pocatello.
