She was the second eldest in her immediate family and together with her sister Bertha took charge of her younger siblings and the household at the age of 13 when her mother died unexpectedly. Bertha's father was a farmer and politician in Kentucky where he was once considered as a candidate for governor.

Bertha moved to Idaho with Robert L. as a young wife and mother of 3 children. She and Robert created and ran a successful small business in Tyhee, Brown's Store, for 32 years. They retired in Pocatello, and spent time in Arizona, and Island Park.

The family would like to thank Hillcrest Haven for 7 years of loving, compassionate, unfailing care that they provided to our mother. We will be forever grateful.

Thanks also to Creek side Hospice for helping to make the final months comfortable and peaceful.
