Bettie Roan

Bettie Marie (Ball) Roan, 81, passed away peacefully at her home with her loving family surrounding her on Saturday, October 31, 2009. She was born May 16, 1928 to Walter E. and Bessie Hope Ball in Hasting, Nebraska. She graduated high school in Hasting. Bettie met and later married Byron George Roan, Sr. on September 28, 1947. Together they had seven children. She loved being a homemaker and a grandmother of 20 and a great grandmother of 39. Bettie loved to sew, do wood crafts and collect all different kinds of bird houses. Bettie is survived by her children, Patricia A. (Allen) Smith, Pocatello, Michael L. Roan, Pocatello, Marcia K. Gorringe, Twin Falls, Julie A. (Ted) Danzig, Burley, Byron G. (Jan) Roan, Pocatello, Steven L. (Dee) Roan, Soda Springs, and Don D. (Jana) Roan, Pocatello. She is also survived by her siblings, Donald E. Ball, Aurora, CO, Laura L. Gorton, Aurora, CO, Virginia R. Applegate, Sterling, CO and Rodger B. Ball, Aurora, CO. She was preceded in death by her husband, Byron G. Roan, Sr., parents, Walter and Bessie Ball, brother, Floyd Ball and sister, Barbara Delver. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Bettie Roan will be held Saturday, November, 7, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4th Ave, Pocatello with Jim Jones conducting. The family will receive friends Friday evening, November 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the services. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery following the services.
