BRIGHTON, COLORADO-Betty Thompson, 72, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2011 at her daughters home from natural causes. She was born to Lester Stanley and Mary Eloise (Christman) Dawson on April 2, 1939 in Jackson, Ohio. Betty's family moved to Fort Hall, Idaho at around 8 years old. She attended Tyhee Elementary and done the rest of her schooling in Pocatello. She married Garon Green and to this union was born three children. Betty and Garon later divorced. She worked as a bar tender and waitress in Chubbuck, Idaho. She then married Leonard Seegrist and they had one child. This marriage also ended in divorce. As a single mother, Betty worked during the spud harvest as a truck driver. She then married Gary Jones and after a 20 year marriage they also divorced. Her last marriage was to Lynn Thompson, and together they owned and operated L & B Farms, as well as L & B Signs and Crafts. She and Lynn were married for 21 years, having Lynn pass away in Jan. of 2009. Betty attended the Church of God in her younger years, and she loved and lived her Christian values. Her hobbies included: shopping, gardening, remodeling, bowling, crafts, ceramics, quilting, home decorating, camping-especially Steelhead fishing. She also loved her children and grandchildren and friends and thoroughly enjoyed being in their presents. She is survived by her daughters, Marjorie (Norm Smith) Huber of Pocatello, Christine (Phil) Egan of Brighton, CO, Angela (David) Corrigan of Idaho Falls; two brothers, Stanley (Julie) Dawson and Johnny Keith Lewis Dawson both of Pocatello; a sister, Sharon Kay Nelson also of Pocatello; nine grand children and 16 great grand children as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lynn; a son, Raymond Paul Green and a grandson, Timothy Knutter. Funeral services for Betty will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 South 4th Avenue. Visitation for Betty will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from, 6-8 P.M. and again one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Falls View Cemetery in American Falls, Idaho.
