Bonnie Jean Larson Barney, 81, of the Pocatello and Inkom, Idaho area, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2015 accompanied by her loving husband and family. On March 6, 1933, healthy twin girls, Bonnie and Connie, were born to George Walter Larson and Mary Alverna (Johnson) Larson in Basalt, Idaho. She was the 2 nd of 5 children: Darlene, Bonnie, Connie, Larry, and Dallas. She grew up in Basalt, Idaho until she was about 12 years old. Her Father transferred to Aberdeen, Idaho with the railroad. She spent her teenage years in Aberdeen, and graduated from Aberdeen High School. She married Ival Thornton right after high school and they were blessed with two sons, Blake and Brek Thornton. They later divorced. It was at an LDS fireside she met her loving, eternal companion, Dean Barney. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple. They were blessed with two more children, Bart Barney and Samee Beck who continued to bless them with 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. She loved being a wife and mother and loved her family dearly. She was an active member in the LDS church and had many callings. She loved the calling of conducting music and led many choirs, cantatas and sang solos. She enjoyed being a homemaker, beautician, reading, music, was a wonderful cook, crocheted beautifully, and LOVED TO SHOP. She is survived by her dear husband, Dean Barney; children, Blake Thornton, Brek Thornton, Bart Barney, and Samee (Jeremy) Beck. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, I great-grandchild; 2 sisters, Darlene Rathka and Connie Poulson. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Larson; 2 brothers, Larry and Dallas Larson. Funeral services will be Monday, February 9, 2015 at 11 AM at the LDS Rapid Creek Bldg. 973 N. Rapid Creek Rd. Inkom, ID 83245. Family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at the Inkom Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Colonial Funeral Home 2005 S. 4 th Ave. Pocatello, ID 83201 (208-233-1500) and condolences can be made to the family online at www.colonial-funeralhome.com
