Breanna Calder

d. October 4, 2009

Breanna Rebecca Calder, 14, was called home to her Heavenly Father, early in her life due to a sudden illness and complications on Sunday, October 4, 2009. Breanna was born October 3, 1995. At 8 years of age Breanna was adopted into her new permanent family. She was sealed to her family in the Idaho Falls, Idaho, LDS Temple near her 9th birthday the following year. Breanna was always so happy. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, fun personality, and a wonderful sense of humor. Breanna attended special education classes at Gate City Elementary, and Irving Middle School, where she was lovingly taught by wonderful teachers and assistants. At ages 8 and 9, Breanna participated in Special Olympics on the swimming team and basketball team. Breanna regularly attended LDS Church services. She loved Primary, being with the young women, and Sunday school. Breanna loved bouncing balls, shooting baskets, Primary songs, going to school, going to church with her family, outings and games with friends and family, going camping, and especially four-wheeler rides with her dad. She loved to swim with her sisters and cousin, swinging and playing in the park, dancing with sisters and Santa Claus, puzzles, books, drawing and crafts, spaghetti and eating chips. Breanna loved her caregivers, in her group home, who became her best friends. Breanna is survived by her father and mother, Dale and Dona Calder; brothers, Andrew, Bradley, Darren; and sisters, Maria and Airmi. One day after her 14th birthday, Breanna passed away peacefully, surrounded by her parents, brothers, sisters, uncle, aunt, cousin, and bishop. Breanna's family would like to give a special thank-you to all of the physicians, nurses and staff who worked so hard to save our precious child. A special thank-you also goes out to everyone who expressed their love and prayers at Breanna's sudden passing. We will miss our daughter and sister. She will always be in our hearts. Services for Breanna will be held on Friday, October 9, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the Highland Eighth Ward Chapel on Butte and Hiskey, with Bishop John Wollen officiating. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. Fourth Ave., Pocatello, and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the services. Burial will be at the Inkom Cemetery.
