Brenda Sue Porter passed away on March 11, 2013 peacefully surrounded by her family at the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City. Brenda Sue Prince was born on March 2, 1943 to Georgia Savanna Goodwin and Boyd Franklin Prince in Grayson, Texas. As a young girl Brenda moved to San Diego, California. In her adult years she met the father of her children, Richard Harold Porter. They were married on November 11, 1962 and on January 26, 1963 their daughter Kathy Rachelle was born. They then moved to Pocatello, Idaho where their two sons were born, Shane Richard on May 8, 1964 and Richard Boyd on March 23, 1972. Brenda worked as a waitress at Buddy's Restaurant, and later worked for AMI and retired from the UPRR as a painters helper. Brenda loved the outdoors. She especially loved swimming and fishing. She loved to lay out in the sunlight and watch her kids and grandkids play around her. Brenda always had a knack with decorating and also had one of the greenest thumbs around. Brenda was loved by many and cherished by all who knew her. She will be forever in the hearts of her loved ones and friends. She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Kathy (Bob) Jensen, Shane (Donna) Porter and Richard (Shelley) Porter all of Pocatello. Grandchildren, Amber (Joe) Crump, Zachrey (Alecia) Jensen, Rachel and Randy Porter, Zandra, Richie and Tierza Turnbeaugh, Chloe and Shaylee Porter all of Pocatello, Idaho; three great grandchildren, Terrence Crump, Aryss Jensen and Dominque Maxwell; sister, Evette Phillips of Twin Falls, Idaho; brother, Lloyd Hartzell of Midville, Oregon. Brenda was preceded in death by parents, Georgia and Boyd; sister Glenda Robertson and husband Richard Harold Porter. Memorial services for Brenda will be held on Friday, March 15, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 South 4th Avenue, Pocatello. At her request there will be no visitation.
