Carrie Dee Jones

d. February 11, 2016

Carrie Dee Jones, 54, of Idaho Falls, passed away February 10, 2016, at her home from natural causes. Carrie was born November 18, 1961, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Delyla (Lyon) Goodson and Robert Jones (Fitzgerald). She grew up and attended school in Santa Clara, California and graduated from Bucher's High School. While in school, Carrie was heavily involved in softball where she played varsity all four years. In 1984, Carrie married Timothy Shumate in Covington, Kentucky and in 1985 they were blessed with a son, Ryan James Shumate. Carrie and Tim separated a year later and she and Ryan moved to San Jose, California where she worked at Amdahl Corporation. Carrie moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho in 1993 and became an immediate outdoors woman. She spent most of her free time fishing and camping with her son in Palisades, Idaho. Carrie loved sports; particularly baseball and football. She was an avid, and somewhat obsessed, 49ers 'Faithful' and San Francisco Giants fan. She also had a love for music, movies, swing-dancing, rescuing poor, defenseless animals, spending time with family and friends, and admiring men in Wrangler jeans. Carrie is survived by her son, Ryan (Missy) Shumate of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; Parents, Delyla 'Dee' and Larry Goodson (step-father) of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and a number of longtime friends. Graveside services will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, 2864 S. 5th Ave. Pocatello, Idaho 83204. Friends may gather one hour prior to the graveside at Colonial Funeral Home 2005 S. 4th Ave. Pocatello, Idaho 83201. Condolences may be made at www.colonial-funeralhome.com
