Dale Marvin Bybee

Dale Marvin Bybee, 86, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2015. He was born in Idaho and as a youth loved to fish, ride his bike and play basketball. He lived in Oregon, Nebraska, and Washington, returning to Idaho. On June 11, 1949, he married Marlene Schmidt in Nampa, Idaho. They were sealed in the SLC Temple in the early 60s. They were married for 66 years. Dale was a dispatcher for 32 years for the Union Pacific Rail Road. He moved with his job to Spokane, Portland, Omaha, and Idaho working in operation control. He chose to work the 12 am to 8 am shift to have time to spend with his children. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Dale enjoyed fly fishing, glass engraving, and building things. He was good at construction. He loved sports, watching football and basketball and loved watching his kids and grandkids play sports. He is survived by his wife, Marlene Bybee, Pocatello; children, Darryl (Vicki) Bybee, Walla Walla, WA, Marlana Hillary, Pocatello, Larry (Pennie) Bybee, Pocatello; brother, Duane (Arlie) Bybee, Pocatello; 21 grandchildren, and 44 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Philip Arden Bybee and Ruby Mae Bybee; brothers, Jimmy Bybee, Gene Bybee; daughter-in-law, Julie Bybee; and grandson, Tyler Bybee. A viewing will be held on Friday, November 13, 2015 from 6-8 pm at Colonial Funeral Home 2005 S. 4 th Ave. Pocatello, Idaho 83201, 208-233-1500. Saturdays viewing will be held from 10-10:45 am with funeral services starting at 11:00 am at the LDS Mountain Park Ward, 4600 Victory Ave. Chubbuck, Idaho 83202.
