Dale Warren Bowman was born February 23, 1948 in Pocatello, Idaho, the third son of Elmer Lloyd and Wilma Gertrude Hill Bowman. At the time of his birth Dale’s parents lived in Arimo, Idaho. When Dale was about 6 years old his family moved to Chubbuck, Idaho. Dale attended school in Pocatello, Idaho graduating from Highland High School in 1967.
Dale joined the Army Reserve prior to high school graduation. During high school he worked for Howard O Miller as a gas station attendant. After high school he went to work at J.R. Simplot for two months before hiring on at the Union Pacific Railroad. He worked at the UPRR until retirement. Dale was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter–day Saints. Dale married Sue Ann Hess August 5, 1969 and they were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on September 6, 1977. In July 1970 Dale and Sue’s first son was born, Elmer Coy, followed in February of 1974 by Ryan Dale, and then in September of 1976 their last son, Jared Warren was born.
Dale enjoyed coaching and watching his sons play sports. He and Sue traveled to Virginia many times to see Coy’s family, and over to Buhl, Idaho to see Ryan’s family and to watch Ryan coach basketball. Dale’s greatest enjoyment was watching his sons and his grandchildren play sports. He mentioned to us that he felt so blessed that all of his children and their children were active in church.
Dale served as mayor of Inkom for 8 years and for 4 of those years he was also Bishop of the Inkom First Ward. He served in many church callings and truly enjoyed each calling.
In October of 2020 Dale became totally bedridden. It has been a long journey for him and for his family, but we are grateful for time we have had to serve him. Dale passed away on November 15, 2021 at his home surrounded by family! Dale is survived by his wife, his three sons [Coy (Stephanie), Ryan (Ranae), and Jared (Holly)], thirteen grandchildren [Keegan (Tawny), Jasmine (Braxton) Barnes, Brenden (Saige), Keeley, Kennedy (Kent) Jolley, Garrett, Hannah, Kamryn, Quincy, Isaac (Charlotte), Korbie, Dalton, and Cooper], five great-grandchildren [Ellie, Jaycee, Emersyn, Indie, and Hattie].
