Donnette Rebich

d. March 24, 2017

Donnette Marguerite Harris Rebich, 89, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2017 in the comfort of home. She was born on June 8, 1927 in McCammon, Idaho to Lorenzo Harris and Dorothy Larsen Harris, one of eleven children. Donnette was proud to be raised in McCammon, as she mentioned to everyone she met. On September 17, 1950 Donnette married a railroader, Martin W. Rebich. They had six children. She is survived by her children, Rhonda Higgins (Jerry), Pocatello, Ronald (Nora Wall), Phoenix, Larry (Josephine Tortorica), Boise, DeeAnne George, Boise, and Jimmie (Rebecca Firkins), Idaho Falls. She is preceded in death by her husband (d. 1986); and daughter, Kathleen "Kitty" Rebich Bowles (d. 2008). Donnette is also survived by over a dozen grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. The family lived a railroad life. Donnette met Martin while she worked as a dispatcher at the railroad. The family moved around Southern Idaho between Glenns Ferry, Nampa, and Pocatello. Donnette lived at St. Anthonys Place in Pocatello for over 25 years, where she never met a stranger. She would introduce her family to all of her friends there. Donnettes brother, George (Rosy), and his wife, Leila Harris always enjoyed taking care of Donnette: taking her to lunch dates and outings every week while she was at St. Anthony Place. Later Donnette was cared for by Rhonda and Jerry Higgins in their home. Donnette will be remembered affectionately as a loving mother and wife, a caring grandmother, a great friend, and an avid basketball fan. Graveside memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 10 AM at the Norton Cemetery, McCammon, Idaho. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of your choosing.
