Edna S. Peterson, 88, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at a local medical center in Pocatello from natural causes. She was born on February 20, 1927 in Blackfoot, Idaho to Franklin Stewart and Hazel Mary Davis Stewart. She grew up in Pocatello, Idaho graduating from Pocatello High School. Edna married Jack H. Peterson on August 31, 1945. They would have celebrated their 70 th wedding anniversary this month. Edna was raised in the Pocatello area. She also lived in Cobalt, Idaho Falls, & Twin Falls over the years. Later she moved back to Pocatello with Jack & her children where she lived for the remainder of her life. She had a variety of jobs over the years working at the Chief Theater, Bannock Hotel, Tempo, and the Kangaroo Pouch. Most of her working life she was employed with Montgomery Ward as Head Bookkeeper. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints & was endowed in the Temple. Ednas greatest joy was her family. She enjoyed spending time with all of them going camping and fishing. She enjoyed bowling and playing cards with friends and family. She loved canning, baking and cooking for her family. She did beautiful needlepoint/embroidery and could be found tying quilts with her sister. Edna is survived by her husband, Jack H. Peterson, Pocatello, Idaho; daughters, Janet (Ted) Elmer, Evanston, Wyoming, Terry Peterson, Pocatello, Idaho; son, Rod (Signe) Peterson, Pocatello, Idaho; grandchildren, Derick Peterson, Idaho Falls, Idaho, Joshua Eyler, Pocatello, Idaho, Nicole Van Horn, Pocatello, Idaho, Sarah Lindoff, Idaho Falls, Idaho, Camille Elmer, Salt Lake City, Utah, Jacob (Amber) Moore, Butte, Montana, Ryan (Brittney) Peterson, Pocatello, Idaho, Jack Casey Elmer, Evanston, Wyoming, Chloe Lemmon, Pocatello, Idaho; 12 great-grandchildren, Shayla Van Horn, Jacquelyn and Taryn Peterson, Aspen, Jalei and Chase Lindoff, Malcom, Dakota, Dylan and Inara Moore, and Sophia and Bronsen Elmer. She was preceded in death by her father, Franklin Stewart, mother, Hazel Davis Stewart Webster; daughter, Tekla Peterson; sisters, Velva Haas, Eva Hottel, Grace Wellard, Geneva Pease, Darlene Stewart; brothers, Ivan Stewart and Wesley Stewart. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 14, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the LDS Meadow Brook Ward Building located at 300 East Chapel Road, Pocatello, Idaho 83201. A viewing will take place on Friday, August 14, 2015 from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the church prior to the services. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, 2864 S. 5th Ave Pocatello, Idaho 83204.
