Eileen Neuendorf

January 24, 1947 — March 4, 2018

Eileen Jean (Stanton) Neuendorf was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on January 24, 1947, and passed away on March 4, 2018, with her husband by her side. She had been suffering from the crippling effects of dementia since 2009, and finally had to enter a memory care facility in December 27, 2017. The angels came at the request of her and her family to end the suffering and she now rests in peace joining her mom, Marion, and father, Jack, who she longed to see once again many times over in her final days.

Eileen married Dale Glenn Neuendorf on March 25, 1972, and raised three boys including Kevin, Brad and Justin. Eileen worked part-time while raising three boys. A back injury to her husband meant she would have to go back to school to earn a degree to help the family. She'd earn a two-year legal secretary degree in a year's time and then would begin a 20-year career as a clerk of the court for Caribou County.

Eileen is survived by her husband Dale Neuendorf; children: Kevin (Tina) Neuendorf, Brad (Cree) Neuendorf, Justin (Katrina) Neuendorf; grandchildren: Hayley, Kyle, Hannah, Andrew, and KaCey Neuendorf as well as Carter Black; sister Kathy (Jerry) Thomas; sister-in-law Sandra (Emmitt) Hood; niece Colleen Pederson and nephews Chad (Jodi) Thomas, Bill (Louise) Overington and Geoff (Karen) Overington.

Family meant everything to Eileen and her three boys would become her life and the source of her happiness, and perhaps eventually her gray hair! She never missed a game or school activity across southeast Idaho rooting on her kids and their friends. She saw those events from the lens of the camcorder, recording every lasting moment. Camping and talking with her friends were other joys in her life along with some of the vices she'd sneak in on numerous trips to Maverick like peanut M&Ms, Diet Coke, and scratch-off lotto tickets. The love of her boys would only multiply when they'd help provide granddaughters to the Neuendorf family tree – Hayley first, followed by Hannah and KaCey. They were the girls she always wanted and she took great pride in letting everyone know it. But don't think for a second her three grandsons didn't warm her heart just the same, particularly to see them give her son's a little taste of their own medicine.

She is preceded in death by both her parents, mother-in-law Beulah, her Uncle Tom and Aunt Nellie along with dear friends Charlotte Kestle and Helen Langedyke.

Friends and family will gather at the Cedar View on Friday, March 9 beginning at 4:00 pm to celebrate Eileen's life. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made in Eileen's name to the Alzheimer's Association.
