Elaine Bybee Worley

d. August 23, 2015

Elaine Bybee Worley, 79, passed away August 23, 2015 at her home from natural causes. Elaine was born August 31, 1935 to Clenden and Ethel Harper Bybee in Anaconda, Montana. Elaines family moved to Pocatello in 1940. While attending Pocatello High School, she met Jack Worley. These sweethearts married June 3, 1955. Jacks military service took them to Missouri for one year, then returned to Pocatello where they remained. Elaine loved her family. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Family time was often spent camping, playing games, visiting extended family, being silly, and enjoying holidays especially Christmas. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many callings, including Primary, Relief Society and music. Later in life, she and Jack served a mission in the Washington D.C. South mission and then later returned to serve in the Washington D.C. Temple. She also served in the Idaho Falls Temple for many years. Music was an important part of her life. She started teaching piano in the early 60s. In the early 70s, she learned of the Suzuki method of music instruction. Her involvement in Suzuki filled a lifetime of teaching students and teachers throughout the United States and Canada. For several years, she hosted a music institute in Rexburg that involved piano, violin and cello participants. Her love of gardening was most evident by her rose garden, which she loved and cared for. She was always willing to share her roses with others. Vegetable gardening was also an important part of Elaines life. Harvest time was filled with eating fresh vegetables and canning. Elaine loved writing poetry. Poetry was a way for her to express her feelings. She has written many poems that cover just about any subject: spiders, exercising, temples and nature. Elaine is survived by her husband, Jack; daughters, Angela (Mark) Harrild, Arlene (Ken) Moore, Diane (Ken) Austin; sons, Reed (Elba) Worley, Darren (Sheila) Worley, John (Amy) Worley; brother, Jimmy (Marion) Bybee; sisters, Marie (John) Jacobsen and Lori Armstrong; 33 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.
