POCATELLO - Elva I. Anderson, 97, of Pocatello, passed away on Monday, October 29, 2012. She was born on June 22, 1915 to Floyd and Margaret Westover in Clementsville, Idaho. She was the 5 th of 11 children. Elva grew up in Rexburg area until she was 12. The family then moved to Aberdeen. She married Kenneth LeRoy Anderson on October 22, 1932 in the Logan Temple. Together they raised three children: Kannetta, Mryna, and Neil. Elva worked in Potatoes while in Aberdeen. She and her husband took a hotel management course and managed properties in Hollywood and Santa Barbara, CA, and also in Salt Lake City, UT. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many callings in the church. Elva did a lot of hand-work including baby quilts, sweaters, afghans, Christmas stockings, and knitting (she was a fanatic). She loved to cook and was quite remarkable at it. She also loved baking because she had a sweet tooth. When the great-grandchildren came they always visited the cookie jar. She was known as the cookie grandma. She is survived by her daughter Kannetta (Richard) Meadows of Carmichael, CA; daughter Myrna (Darwin) Gravatt of Pocatello; son G. Neil Anderson of Pocatello; sister Maxine (Bill) Wall of Chubbuck; 12 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren, and 25 great-great-grandchildren. Elva was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 granddaughter, 1 grandson, and daughter-in-law Marcia Anderson. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 5, 2012, at the Valleyview Ward LDS Chapel, 1433 Gwen Drive. A visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, November 4, 2012, at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4 th Ave, and also one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
