Erma Clinkscales

October 7, 1918 — April 30, 2011

Erma Sarah Quinn Clinkscales, 92, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, April 30, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 7, 1918 in Pocatello, Idaho to James A. Quinn and A.W. Elizabeth Ingelstrom. She was number eight of eleven children.

Erma attended school in Pocatello, Idaho, graduating from Pocatello High School. She began working at Kraft Food Company where she met her sweetheart and future husband, Burton R. Clinkscales. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple January 19, 1942. They were married 48 years until Burotn's death July 8, 1990.

Erma and Burton made their home in Pocatello where they raised four children and a large garden. She worked at Lamb Weston until her retirement in 1983. Her retirement years were filled with her favorite activity, spending time with family. She cherished her family and was happiest when she was with them.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings which she served faithfully. She served in the Memphis, Tennessee/Little Rock, Arkansas mission.

Erma loved to go camping and traveling, making many trips around the country with friends or to visit family. She was accomplished at sewing, embroidery, knitting, crocheting and quilting and made many keepsakes for her family. She enjoyed canning the garden produce and was an incredible cook; her butterflake rolls and chocolate turtles were especially heavenly. She kept a spotless and well-organized home.

She is survived by her sons; Steven Q. (Janet) Clinkscales, Sidney J. (Trudy) Clinkscales; daughter, Jamie Ramsayer, all of Pocatello; 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren with two on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Burton; her daughter Diane Bosted; grandchildren, Cory Ramsayer and Shelly Ramsayer; great-grandchildren, Johnny Ray Bosted and Zora LeighAnne Bosted and her ten siblings.

We love you, dear Mother, Grandmother, Aunt and Friend. You will always be in our hearts.
