Erna Ellsworth

Erna Ellsworth, 93, passed away peacefully at her home April 1, 2017 in Pocatello Idaho. Erna was born May 18, 1923 daughter of Eugen and Emilie Stein Kolb in Stuttgart, Germany. She finished high school and attended two years of college in Germany. After World War II she met Brigham Ellsworth, an American soldier, and they were married August 10, 1948, in Berchtesgaden, Germany. They lived in Japan, California, Alaska, Maryland, and Germany and back to Idaho. Erna loved her family. Her main focus was at home as a homemaker. She was an active member of the LDS church and loved to do temple work, genealogy, and her relief society callings. In her spare time she loved to crochet baby blankets for every grandchild and great-grandchild. She also played Candy Crush and Tetris on her iPad, and loved to read and do puzzles. On Sundays she would listen to "Music and the Spoken Word" and her family was her greatest joy. She was very stylish and remained fashionable to the very end, however she was also humble and unassuming. She is survived by her children, Ron (Merrilee) Ellsworth, Boise, Idaho, Keith (Karen) Ellsworth, Pocatello, Idaho, Shirley (Rick) Hawk, Pocatello, Idaho, Mike Ellsworth, Pocatello, Idaho; Else, Gabi, Roland Kolb, her German family; 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grand child. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Ella Kolb; 2 brothers, Walter and Martin Kolb; 2 grandsons, Sam and Jeremy Hawk. " She left behind a trail of kindness " Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 11 am at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4th Ave. Pocatello, ID, with a visitation for one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, 1520 S. 5th Ave. Pocatello, ID 83204.
