Ernest C Mower

Ernest Clair Mower, 77, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Portneuf Medical Center, from health complications due to a broken heart.

Clair was born to Ernest S. and Pearl Mower, May 7, 1935 at Ferron, Utah. He had 3 sisters. Clair attended school in Snake River and graduated from Pocatello High School. Clair played football, baseball and basketball. Clair worked for Consolidated Freight, PFE and Pepsi. Clair retired from the U.S. Postal Service.

Clair served in the U.S. Army as a Paratrooper from July of 1953 to July of 1956. During that time, he met and married the love of his life, Annette Pitts Mower. After his honorable discharge from the army, they moved to Idaho where they raised 4 children; 3 daughters and 1 son.
In May of 2005, their marriage was solemnized and sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Clair was an amazing husband, Dad, Grandpa, fisherman, hunter and best friend to his wife and family.

Clair is survived by his daughter, Kim Lee Mower, Pocatello, son, Gayland Ray Mower, Pocatello, daughter, Cathy (Pat), Pocatello, daughter, Roxanne (Scott) Thompson, Pocatello, three siblings: Kay Weildenhouse, Pocatello, Lynda Belnap, Salt Lake City, UT, Brenda Overdorf, Pingree, 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Clair is preceded in death by his wife, Annette Mower, his parents, Frank and Pearl Hancock, Ernest S. Mower and 2 son-in-laws.

The family would like to give thanks to the doctors and nurses that took such great care of Daddy.
