Florence Ann Cooper passed away peacefully at her home in Pocatello, Idaho on April 23, 2022 at 97 years of age. She was born on June 15,1924 in Wisner, Nebraska to Gustavo Lemke and Anna Marie Augusta Boek. She married the love of her life, Nile Wesley Cooper on October 13,1943. They were blessed with 5 girls and 1 boy: Lynda, Dianne, Patricia, Kristine, Claudia, and Kim.
Florence worked night and day to take care of the family that she dearly loved. And she worked hard alongside Nile in his logging and sawmill business, as well as gardening, canning, sewing clothes for her family, and sharing with others. She loved to read and learn new things.
Florence was completely devoted to her whole family. She readily sacrificed her wants and needs to give to her family. She had an unconditional love for each one. Her family describes her as the perfect example of being loving, considerate, empathetic, and nonjudgmental. She always had a listening ear to hear of our happy times as well as our sad times and she always made it better. She loved life and delighted in talking about the happy things in our lives. She was fiercely independent even in her last days.
Florence is the youngest of her siblings, all deceased. She is survived by her daughters: Lynda, Dianne (Kenny), Pat (Bob), Claudia (Mike) and her son, Kim (Cindy).
The family attended a celebration of her life. In accordance with her wishes there will be no formal services. The family would like to thank the many understanding and loving people who helped our dear mother along the way: the emergency rescue teams, the emergency room team, the whole Encompass Health team as well as those at Colonial Funeral Home.
Memories and condolences may be shared with the family under the "Tribute Wall" tab above.
