George L. Rudolph, 89, of Pocatello passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2010, at a the Idaho State Veterans Home. He was born on December 1, 1920, in Tetonia, Idaho, to Florence Leon Sautter and Otto Franz Rudolph. He married Bessie Marie Bevan on October 7, 1949 and was later sealed for time and eternity on February 14,1958 in the Idaho Falls Temple. George grew up a farmer and continued so the first couple years he was married. He was also handyman around Teton Valley. With his brother Otto, he worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps before the war broke. Following that he attended ISU where he learned Airplane Mechanics. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was baptized in 1957. George loved airplanes and even built his own. He also had a great respect for nature and loved hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife Bessie; his sons Shane (Peggy) Rudolph of Pocatello and Kevin (Lucinda) Rudolph of Pocatello; daughter Leah Rudolph of Pocatello; brother Harry Rudolph of Pocatello; 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughters Leslie Ann and Marian Rudolph, and his brothers Frank, Otto, and Harold. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2010, at the Pocatello West Stake Center on the corner of Hawthorne and Eldredge. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S 4th Ave, as well as one hour prior to the funeral services at the church. Burial will follow at the Haiden Cemetery. The family expresses great thanks to the people and staff of the Idaho State Veterans Home for the care and compassion that was shown to George.
