Glenn A. Orr, 75, of Pocatello, passed away May 30, 2014, with his family at his bedside after a valiant battle with cancer. Glenn was born on August 8, 1938, in Georgetown, Idaho, to Arlow and Mae (King) Orr in his Grandpa and Grandma King's log cabin. He was the oldest of four children. On September 3, 1955, he married the love of his life, Carol LaVerne Slack. They lived in Montpelier, Grace, Preston and Soda Springs before settling in Pocatello in 1961. He owned South Gate Auto & Wrecking and later, along with his brother-in-law, Ken Slack, owned and operated Mountain West Radiator. In his younger years, Glenn enjoyed playing guitar in a band. Glenn was a very gifted mechanic and craftsman. He spent many hours refurbishing motorhomes and tinkering around the house on other projects. Glenn enjoyed fishing, boating and camping with his family. He loved reading western novels and had read the entire Louis L'Amour collection. He made many lifelong friends and was a terrific father and grandfather and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his loving wife, Carol; his children, Steven Orr, Jerry (Lisa) Orr, Randy (Janene) Orr, Robert (Julie) Orr, and Danny (Terry) Orr, all of Pocatello, Idaho, two sisters, Linda Gardner of Soda Springs, Idaho and Eileen (Craig) Bunn of Montpelier, Idaho, and one brother, Alan (Sherry) Orr of Bancroft, Idaho. Also surviving are 22 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held Tuesday, June 3, 2014, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home 2005 S. 4 th Ave. Pocatello, ID. 208-233-1500. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Church located at 4 th and Fredregill. The family will meet with friends and relatives one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will follow at the Inkom Cemetery.
