Glenna Marie Kinghorn

March 4, 1938 — April 21, 2023

Glenna Marie Kramer arrived in this world, the first daughter of Rinald E. and Neita C. Kramer on March 4, 1938. She was a joy to them and the extended family. She was later joined by twin sisters Marilyn June and Carolyn Joyce, two more sisters Teddi Elaine and Brenda Sue, and finally a brother, Ronald Kim. Their family started out in American Falls, Idaho and later moved to Pocatello when Glenna was in the 4th grade. She attended school at Washington Elementary, Franklin Junior High, and then graduated from Pocatello High School in 1955.

Glenna married Harry Prodromides and started a family. Their son Kevin H was born and was later joined by Kelly G. They lived in Pocatello and then moved to Oakland, California, and then back to Pocatello where they opened and operated the Huddle on North Main Street. Harry then took a job in the Los Angeles area, and they lived there for several years. They were later divorced. During this time, Glenna worked for Farmers Insurance Company in Santa Anna, California. She then transferred with Farmers Insurance to Pocatello in 1973, working as a supervisor until her retirement in 1999.

In 1974, Glenna married Morris Kinghorn, and they had a blended family of 4 sons and 1 daughter: Kevin of Ogden, Utah, Kelly and Glenna of Lacey, Washington, Kari Ann and Steve Duffy of Pocatello, Mark and Janet of Castle Dale, Colorado, and Corwin (Cory) and Gretchen of Pocatello. In addition, Glenna has 15 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She loved all her family, and they are all very close. They have even been on several cruises and trips together for family fun!

Glenna enjoyed fishing and quilting, though she often said she was a “topper” and not a “quilter”. She made many quilts and supplied her children and grandchildren with quilts.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. She was also a member of the Portneuf Valley Quilt Club and Happy Hands Quilt Club, as well as a past member of Toastmasters International. She received her degree in Corporate Management from Idaho State University by attending night classes while working for Farmers Insurance Company.

For the past 7 years, Glenna worked for Colonial Funeral Home as an ambassador, and then for Wilks Funeral Home. She loved this job and made many friends, renewing many acquaintances from past associates. Glenna loved helping people and giving support and encouragement to those who were grieving.

Before she passed, there were many people she mentioned she would like to express her gratitude to: all those who visited her at home or the hospital, those who brought in meals, and those who sent cards or flowers. Glenna had many friends, and always enjoyed visiting and being with people.

Viewings will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at Wilks Funeral Home and from 9:30-10:30 prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at the James LDS church building, 450 James Ave, Chubbuck, Idaho 83202. Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery.
