Gloria "Genie" Alexander

POCATELLO-Gloria "Genie" Alexander, 67, passed away Friday, April 28 th , from natural causes. Genie was born September 13 th , 1943 in Abilene, Texas. An avid fisher and bowler, she never failed at having a good time. She fell in love and married Walt Alexander in April of 1971 and also became an amazing mother. Genie was actively involved in her community; she was a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, attended Southern Baptists Church, was a member of the sorority Beta Sigma Phi, and is a past president of the Benevolent Patriotic Order of Does. She worked for Quality Control at Lambweston and as a bookkeeper at Pocatello Ready Mix/Sanding gravel. She also spent time as a bookkeeper for Blocks Department Store. She then worked for the Bannock County Treasurers Office for twenty-one years until becoming the county treasurer in 2002 for four years. Genie loved spending her time with her family and friends and could always bring a smile to everyone's face. Genie is survived by her seven grandchildren: Koren Alexander, Brandon Page, Sean Winsor, Kris Jones, Amy Thorton, Jason Woods, and Jami Woods; her children, Troy Alexander and Susan Woods; and her siblings, Bette Volkman, Dressia Hio, and Bob Newsom. We will all miss you, Genie!
