Gloria Shepherd

POCATELLO - Gloria Teresa Shepherd, 82, of Pocatello, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 22, 2011, at Portneuf Medical Center. She was born April 8, 1928 in Pocatello. Gloria was the oldest of 3 children of Anthony Grigora and Nora Colaianni. She graduated from Pocatello High School. In 1963 she married Larry Hughes. He died in 1971, and in 1986 Gloria married Robert Shepherd and he also preceded her in death in 2002. Gloria owned and operated Western Union with her husband Larry for many years. She also worked at ZCMI on the 2 nd floor for several years. She was a friend of the outdoors. She loved rock hunting, skiing, boating, hiking, and fishing. She was talented at making stained glass, jewelry, golfing, and sewing. She also loved traveling and was able to go to Europe and visit her parents' country of Italy. Gloria was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Community and attended the St. Joseph's Chapel. She is survived by her son Larry, daughter-in-law Paula, brother Richard, sister Dorothy, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents and both husbands. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 28, 2011, at the Holy Spirit Catholic Community, St. Joseph Chapel, 455 N. Hayes Ave. A visitation will be held from 6 p.m.to 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 27, 2011, at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4 th Ave in Pocatello.
