She attended Whittier Elementary, Franklin Jr. High, and graduated from Pocatello High School in 1932. She started working as a typist for her father when she was a junior in high school. She received many awards for her typing skills, and continued to work for her father when he and her brother, Rulon organized the Beneficial Protective Insurance Association in 1932. She continued to work for the BPA as secretary and bookkeeper until 1952. She also started a tax consulting service that she operated until she was 80 years old.

Grace and Bill were later divorced. Grace married James R. Bagwell in 1943 and they had one daughter, Diana Jane. They divorced in 1969.
Grace's greatest loves were her family, her house and yard, her Canasta games, and her favorite puppy, Scooter " pretty much in that order. She always enjoyed going to the family cabin on Hebgen Lake where she always caught the most and biggest fish.

Grace is survived by her daughters, Judy Dawson and Diana (James) Payne; her grandchildren, Dee (Rex) Johnson, Stacie (Brian) Allen, and Shawn (Kasonora) Payne; and four great-grandchildren, Erin, Jake, Andrew and Rebeka.
