Harold Higgins, 76, of Pocatello, passed away January 25, 2022.

Harold was born August 30th, 1945, in Pocatello, Idaho to Lester Higgins and Emma Briggs Tolman.

He grew up and attended schools in Pocatello. Family was so important to him, and he spent much of his growing up years with siblings, cousins, aunts and uncles.

He met his wife Diana Lee Nalley while attending Pocatello High School. He also managed the basketball team and graduated in the Class of 1963.

The couple was married after Harold served an LDS mission in The Netherlands. They were married on Sept. 15, 1967, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Harold also served in the Army Reserves from 1964 to 1974. They have made their home in Pocatello, Idaho, where they raised seven children.

Early in their marriage, Harold worked as the shoe department manager at the JCPenney store in old town Poky.

He spent most of his working life as a brakeman/conductor for Union Pacific and worked between Pocatello and Nampa. He served as the U.T.U. Treasurer for many years. Harold retired in 2006 from the Union Pacific Railroad.
He was an avid computer enthusiast, enjoyed photography, as well as being a family historian. He enjoyed gardening and cooking for family, neighbors, and friends. He was always up for a family gathering, a game of pinochle and bowls of caramel corn. Many lifetime memories were made on the annual deer hunting trip with an extended family group.

Harold held many church callings and later in life he and Diana served a service mission. A favorite pastime was Family Indexing and he was one of the top indexers in the world.

He was a true example of hard work and love.
