Irene Lois Study

Irene Lois Study, 64, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2015 at a local Medical Center. Irene was born on June 27, 1950 in Pocatello, Idaho. She graduated from American Falls High School. She then attended ISU for 6 years. She lived at the Michaud Flats, in the Pocatello area and in Sun Valley, Idaho. She moved back to the Michaud Flat area 7 years ago. Irene worked as a Librarian, she helped adults obtain their GEDs, and she also worked in the Hotel Industry. She was the "Miss Shoshone-Bannock Queen" in 1974-1975. She traveled through Native country as a spokesperson on American Native issues. She belonged to the Native American Church. Irene loved knitting, beadwork, Native music, and taking care of her family. The family wishes to say thank you for all of your kindness and your help and prayers in their time of need. Irene is survived by her brother, Delferd Study of Pocatello, ID; first cousins, Merlin Study, Roslyn Study, and Wayne Study. She is also survived by Lynda Arquette (daughter of Sharon Study), Rick D. (son of Lesley Study), Ron Study (son of Merlin Study), Sommer Small (daughter of Roxanne Study), Leah, Leo Jr., Holly and Heather Neaman (children of Barbara Study Neaman). Also, surviving her are other relatives, Virgine Hardy, Daisey Hood and Virgil Trujillo. She was preceded in death by her father, Herman Study, mother, Bessie Study, and a brother, Eldon Study. Tee Pee visitation was held from Monday, April 20, 2015 at 1 PM until Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at 2 PM at the Community Center on Arbon Valley Rd. Pocatello, Idaho 83204. Irene was then taken to the Bannock Creek Cemetery, on Tuesday, for graveside services that started at 2:00 PM.
