Isabella Willes

May 23, 1932 — October 8, 2020

Isabella (Isobel) Willes passed away peacefully on October 8, 2020 at her home in Pocatello, Idaho.

Isobel was born May 23, 1932 to William Ralph and Melbadeen Yearsley in St. John, Idaho. She was the oldest of three children.

Isobel attended school in St. John and Pocatello and graduated from Pocatello High School in 1950. While in high school she met her sweetheart Joseph Willes. They were married in 1951. Isobel and Joe have three children, Paul, David and Melissa.

Isobel began her career at age 14, working for her aunt at the Credit Bureau of Pocatello. She worked there on and off for many years. While Joe was on active duty at Camp Roberts California, Isobel worked as secretary for the Post Engineer. Isobel later worked at Bannock Memorial Hospital and at Farm Bureau Insurance as manager of accounts payable, where she retired after 20 years.

Isobel's interest and hobbies included quilting, crocheting, embroidery, garage sales and antique shopping as well as a lifelong love of learning. Her main interest throughout her life was supporting her children, grandchildren and Joe in all of their musical endeavors.

Isobel served in many positions in the LDS church, but found her true calling as compassionate service leader, where she served many in her neighborhood, as they were going through trials and struggles.

Isobel is survived by her husband Joseph, brother Jim (Marilynn) Yearsley, sister-in-law Darlene Warren, sister-in-law ArLene Yearsley, children Paul (Kathy) Willes, David (Jana) Willes and Melissa Willes (Thadeus Little). She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Isobel was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Gary and Paul.

Isobel's family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff at Solace Hospice for their care, compassion and support.

Due to the effects of COVID-19, private family services will be held October 17, 2020 at the LDS church 300 E. Chapel street with family prayer at 10:45 am and funeral service at 11:00am.
