Jason Robert Lee

May 21, 1984 — June 25, 2022

Jason Robert Lee passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2022. He was born in the old army hospital in Fort Carson, Colorado on May 21, 1984.  He was number six or seven out of 13 births that day in that hospital.  Due to some complications, he was taken immediately from his mother. Because of the number of new babies, he was placed in one end of a small crib.  His mother’s first look at him was through bars.  For those who knew Jason you know that he spent much more time behind bars later in his troubled life.

As a military child, Jason grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Fairbanks, Alaska, and Stuart, Iowa before his father retired and moved the family to Pocatello.
Jason has an older brother Michael-Paul Lee, an older sister, Jessica Minnig, and two younger brothers, Don Lee and Levi Delezene.  The home in Pocatello was next door to Grandma Conna and they became very close.  Jason became a Tiger Cub Scout while in Fairbanks and continued his Cub Scout growth in Pocatello.  He attended Franklin Middle School, and left Century High School when he turned 16.  He completed his GED the following year.

Jason has three children.
Beautiful Claire is married to Aundre and lives in Idaho Falls. They have given Jason two lovely granddaughters, Maggie Jo and Maze.  Christian is a tall, handsome 16-year-old who lives in Pocatello with his mom and half-sister. His youngest daughter Zoe, a beautiful, precocious 14-year-old, lives with her mom and stepdad in Twin Falls.

Jason was a very troubled young man who suffered demons created by his own actions – complicated by his addiction. Like many people, he simply couldn’t overcome this craving and finally succumbed to it.
We will never know the final thoughts before a suicide, or what the trigger may have been.  It is hard to understand the whys, and often, guilt is felt by those left behind.  Please know that Jason made this choice to end his own turmoil, and no one could have stopped the final result.  Those who loved him, loved him well.  Remember the airline announcement to put your own oxygen mask on first before helping others.  Those who did that, you did well.

Jason is preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee; his older half-brother, Michael Paul Lee; and his grandmother, Conna Day.

He will be remembered by his mom and stepdad, Debbie and Ted Delezene; his sister, Jessica and her husband, Charles Minnig and their children, Jason’s three nephews and five nieces; his brothers, Don and Levi will have memories to share; his three wonderful children; his two granddaughters; and any future grandchildren will grow up sharing stories of him.
The many friends who touched Jason’s life and who were touched by him will continue to miss him and talk about him.  In doing so keeping his memory alive.

We will have a "Celebration of Freedom" for Jason on Saturday, July 2 starting at 1:00 pm at his mother's home. If you would like to attend that would be great. Please send an inquiry to the email address
debbiedelezene@gmail.com for the address.

Memories and condolences may be shared with the family under the "Tribute Wall" tab above.
