Jay Shipley

Beloved Son, Brother, Father and Grandfather, Jay Russell Shipley age 64 of Bancroft, Idaho died on June 19th 2010 as a result of an accident while riding his ATV in the mountains on the Boundary Trail near Lava Hot Springs while with his girlfriend Linda and a few of his many friends (something he loved doing). Jay was born March 24th 1946 in Soda Springs, Idaho. Jay lived most of his life in and around the Toponce Creek and Bancroft areas. He was raised on a ranch and farm in the Toponce Creek area. He attended school in Bancroft and graduated from North Gem High School in 1964. During this time he competed in football and wrestling and was very successful with his wrestling. After high school he joined the Air Force and trained as a fire fighter but was later called home to help his parents on the ranch. After returning home he spent a few summers competing in many of the local rodeos in the Idaho, Wyoming and Utah areas with a fair amount of success. He eventually took over the family ranch and lived there until 1981. Even after leaving the ranch his life continued to revolve around the
