Jean Thomas

Jean Thomas passed away on August 10, 2021 in Pocatello, Idaho. She was born on October 7, 1954 in Pocatello, Idaho to E. Con Thomas and Persis Farr Thomas.

Her early years were spent in Arimo with her twin sister, Joan and brother, Jan. She attended grade school in Arimo and McCammon where many lifelong friendships developed. She graduated from Marsh Valley High School in 1972 and then attended Ricks College where she graduated with a degree in nursing. She moved to Utah and worked at the University of Utah Hospital, LDS Hospital and Utah Valley Hospital and was listed in Who’s Who Among American Nurses. One of her jobs was to fly around the United States and harvest donated organs for transplants. Other nursing positions were in Folsom, California and Pocatello, Idaho.

Jean was a doting aunt to her nieces and nephews during their early years.

She liked to decorate, do crafts and bead work and delighted in making and delivering small gifts to others.
She was previously married to Drew Sweet and Robert Molnar, she had no children.

Jean is survived by her twin sister, Joan Sayer (husband Brett), Karen Thomas, sister in law, adopted sister in law Edith Bartholomeusz; 3 nieces, Dayna Carroll, Malia Roundy, Angie Bybee; 2 nephews, Shawn Sayer and Shane Thomas; 19 great nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jean was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She was predeceased by brother Jan Thomas, adopted brother Gary Bartholomeusz, nephew Brandon Thomas and niece Janie Sayer.

Unfortunately, mental illness and addictions usually win, it’s a constant internal war. She dealt with this for many years and has now been released from her battles.


A graveside service will be held in her honor at 11:00 a.m. on Friday August 13, 2021 at the Arimo City Cemetery in Arimo, Idaho.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to help with expenses.
