POCATELLO-John Edward Frost, passed away peacefully March 8, 2012 at his home with his family at his side. He was born November 30, 1932 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to Edward and Mable (Swalley) Frost. The family moved to Ontario, Oregon when he was 2 years old and by this time his brother Jack was born.. John attended Oregon schools and graduated from Ontario High School in 1950. He attended the University of Oregon for a short time. He enlisted in the Army in 1952 and served in the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1954. He started working for S.P. Railroad in California. John came to Pocatello in 1974 where he worked for UPRR until retirement. John met his wife Peggy Yount Frost, the love of his life, in 1977 and they were married in January of 1978. John took on Peggy's two children, Steven Young and Lisa Yount Grimm, and thought of them as his own. John and Peggy enjoyed traveling in retirement. They traveled south every winter for 12 years, also all across the country in their Travel Trailer. He also enjoyed fishing, watching sports on TV and visiting with friends and family. John was preceded in death by his mother and father and a much beloved stepson Steven. John is survived by a step-daughter, Lisa Yount Grimm; four grandchildren, Joshua (Chrystal), Alyssa, Tia, and Ian; a wonderful daughter-in-law, Kathy, and a great-granddaughter Mia as well as his brother, Jack. A visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 11, 2012, at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4th Ave. A graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, March 12, 2012, at Mountain View Cemetery. Veterans honors will be provided by the Pocatello Veterans Honor Guard.
