John H. Bentel

TYHEE " John Hans Bentel, 81, passed away peacefully at his home, Friday, March 15, 2013.

John was born July 6, 1931 in Pocatello, to Everette and Ruby (Sorensen) Bentel. He began working with his Dad on the farm at an early age. He attended the Pocatello Schools. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and attained the rank of Sergeant, while he served his country, 1950-1953.

John married his sweetheart, Marcia Charlene Winn on February 13, 1954.

John stayed with the family farm and extended it to a third generation dairy operation, he also raised potatoes, grain, beet, alfalfa, and corn. He was a skilled diesel mechanic and welder, he could repair anything.

John was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was recently ordained an Elder.

John is survived by his wife, Charlene Bentel, Pocatello; daughters, Carla (Robert) Isham, Riverton, Utah; Cindy (Tarry) Hirschi, American Falls; a son-in-law, George Naylor; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Candy Naylor; and his brother, Earl Don Bentel.
