Josephine Harris Morrison

April 14, 1926 — March 5, 2016

Josephine Harris Morrison, 89, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016. Josie (Jo) danced her entire life from Tyhee to St. George. We are sure she is dancing now. She was born April 14, 1926 to Thomas and Mabel Harris in McCammon, Idaho. Josie was one of eight children in Tom and Mabel Harriss family. Josie spent her early years in McCammon and graduated from McCammon High School in 1944. She married Glenn George (Bob) Morrison in June of 1944. They were later sealed in the Logan Utah Temple in 1964. To this union were born four children; LaNell, Linda, Robert, and Deborah. The family was raised in Marsh Center on a ranch operation. She helped run the ranch operation and prepared a lot of meals for the summer hay crews that put up hay for the cattle. Josie worked part time as a waitress during the winter months to help the family through the lean times on the ranch. Glenn and Josie sold the ranch in 1971 and Josie opened her own business with antiques and collectable glassware. She did this for many years in Downey, Lava, and later in Grace. She and Glenn spent their retirement years dancing in St. George and Mesquite during the winters. Glenn passed away in 1996. In 1999 she married Terry Smith of Grace, Idaho and they made their summer home in Grace and winter home in Washington, Utah. They spent their time together dancing from Tyhee to St. George. Terry passed away in November, 2006. Survivors are her brother, Gary (Viola) Harris of Ammon, Idaho; Children, LaNell Davis of Arimo, Idaho, Linda (Ray) Paulsen, Manzanillo, Mexico, and Robert (Barbara) of Shelley, Idaho. 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 3 great- great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Arimo Stake Center at 11 am on Friday, March 11, 2016. A viewing will be held at 10 am prior. Burial will follow at the Arimo Cemetery.
