Karen Hunziker

Karen Hunziker, 77, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at a local care center. Karen was born on March 7, 1939 in Pocatello, ID to Alvin and Hazel Watlington. She graduated from Pocatello High School in 1957. On July 11, 1958, she married Fred Hunziker, in Elko, NV. Together they had 3 children; Keely, Kelly and Jeff. Karen was an ardent supporter of her husband Fred at Hunziker Construction. In 1995 she retired from School Dist. 25 after years of loyal service. Karen had many friends who enjoyed spending time with her. She has kept in touch with them through the years. She loved entertaining people and having parties at her home. She also enjoyed reading and golfing. In her later years, she had a close friend, Bob Gallup. He preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Fred; and parents. Karen is survived by her children, Keely Hunziker, Pocatello, ID, Kelly Hunziker, Flagstaff, AZ, Jeff Hunziker, Pocatello, ID; 3 grandchildren, Dustin, Keith and Kyle; and brother, Leon Watlington, Idaho Falls, ID. The family would like to give a special thank you to Quail Ridge, Caring Hearts, and Encompass for their love and care. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 11 AM at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4 th Ave. Pocatello, ID, with a viewing from 10-11 AM before the services. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, 1520 S. 5 th Ave. Pocatello, ID 83204.
