Kathy Ann Solomon

d. September 25, 2015

Kathy Ann Solomon passed peacefully on September 25, 2015 surrounded by her family after fighting a courageous battle against cancer. Kathy was born April 12, 1961 in Pocatello, Idaho into a loving family, the second of five children and the only daughter of Larry and Peggy Solomon. She attended school at Edahow Elementary, Hawthorne Junior High, and graduated from Highland High school in 1979. After graduation, she attended the Idaho State University Vo-tech program and trained as a medical secretary. She later obtained employment at Farmers Insurance and worked there for 35 years where she gained life-long friends. Kathy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many of its auxiliaries, but mostly in the Relief Society, and was a much-loved Relief Society President. Kathy knew more about how to offer relief than most people and her passion in life was serving others. Her favorite calling was as a visiting teacher, probably because it was just an extension of her loving and caring nature. She was blessed with the gift of words and composed beautiful poetry which she shared to bless the lives of others. She is survived by her parents who she loved and cared for, and her four brothers, Kevin (April) Solomon, Pocatello, Kelly (Kristina) Solomon, Meridian, Kirk, Pocatello, and Korey (Natasha) Solomon, Kimberly, and also by her beloved dog Toby. She is also survived by fourteen nieces and nephews, Laura, Christie, Heidi, Lindsey, Shannon, Jeremy, Mandi, Justin, Jessica, Abby, Grace, Samantha, Anna, and Kassie. They recognized their Aunt Kathy as someone who never forgot a birthday, band concert, choir concert, or any other special occasion with a personal visit, phone call, or card and who celebrated every achievement with them. Kathy was the driving force behind the annual family Christmas Party and always provided a gift for everyone in attendance, and even as the party members outgrew the confines of her home, she made sure no one was forgotten. In more ways than just a small gift, "everyone got something from Kathy." Kathy will be remembered by everyone because she remembered everyone. She will be missed more than words can express. Well love you forever, Kathy! Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at 11 AM at the LDS Church, 2000 S. Fairway Dr. Pocatello, ID 83201 with a viewing for one hour prior. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 from 6-8 PM at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4 th Ave. Pocatello, ID 83201. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
