Laurie Miles

Our sweet wife, mom, and grandma, Laurie Suzanne Garbett Miles, 59, returned to her Heavenly Father on February 23, 2016. She died of natural causes at home. Laurie was born May 6, 1956 in Pocatello, Idaho to Harold Dean Garbett and Beverlie Jane Carter Garbett as the youngest of four children. She attended Greenacres Elementary, Alameda Junior High, and Highland High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Scot Blair Miles on September 5, 1975 for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple. Laurie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held many callings in Relief Society and Primary. Family was very important to Laurie. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was sweet, caring, and loving to all. Laurie did craft shows for many years painting wood creations that Scot cut out. Later she worked at Scrap n Fanatics, Village Crafts, Maternal Instincts, as a photography assistant for Amy, and a health care assistant. Her most important and favorite job was that of mom and grandma. Laurie and Scot enjoyed camping in their trailer. The family made memories visiting places like Glacier National Park, Arches, and Jackson Hole. They also spent lots of weekends visiting their daughters, Melissa and Amy, out of town and enjoyed having Corys family in Pocatello. Laurie is survived by her husband, Scot Miles; son, Cory (Kadie) Miles and their children, Tyler, Jason, Piper, Andy, Regan, and Preston; daughter, Melissa (Nathan) Hulse and their children, Makayla, Allison, and Caitlyn; daughter, Amy (Tyler) Jussel and their children, Wyatt, Ellie, and Payton; sister, Kathy (Byron) Miles; and brother, Carter Dan Garbett. Laurie is preceded in death by her parents, Harold Garbett and Beverlie Carter Garbett; brother, David (Ruth) Garbett; and grandsons, Braydon Hulse and Alex Hulse. Family will receive friends on Friday, February 26, 2016 from 6-8 pm at Colonial Funeral Home 2005 S. 4 th Ave. Pocatello, Idaho 83201, 208-233-1500. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 11 am at the Highland 4 th Ward Chapel, 2300 Butte St. Pocatello, Idaho 83201 with a viewing for one hour prior. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, 1520 S. 5 th Ave. Pocatello, Idaho 83201.
