POCATELLO - Emma LaVae (Leishman) Groesbeck, 78, of Pocatello and former longtime resident of Ammon, passed away on Monday, July 11, 2011, at a care center in Pocatello. LaVae was born on June 9, 1933 in Charlo, Montana, the daughter of Francis and Margaret (Kerr) Leishman. She married Harmon Groesbeck and that union lasted a wonderful 34 years. LaVae work for Este' Lauder as a Beauty Consultant. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint, she enjoyed and fulfilled many callings, Relief Society President and Relief Society Teacher, Young Women's and Primary President, Visiting Teacher. She loved to cook. She crocheted beautiful Afghan's and sent them to people in Russia. She loved serving in the church and her fellow men. LaVae is survived by her husband, Harmon Groesbeck of Pocatello, Idaho; sister, Ranae Rowley of Great Falls, Montana; children, Karen (West) Flores of Prosser, Washington, Duane L. West of Hampton, Virginia, Kay Marie (West) Cruze of Knoxville, Tennessee, L. Suzann (West) Hardy of Pocatello, Idaho, Douglas L. West of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Donald L. West of Shelley, Idaho; 21 Grandchildren and 35 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Margaret Leishman; a sister, Jane (Leishman) Palmer; three brothers, Boyd, Gene, and Glen Leishman. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 15, 2011, at the Pocatello Fremont Heights LDS Chapel, 1433 Gwen Drive. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Burial will follow services at the Wellsville Cemetery in Wellsville, Utah.
