Lloyd Smith

Lloyd Smith, 81, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2015 from natural causes. Lloyd was born in Idaho as the 1 st of 3 children. He lived most of his childhood in Moore, Idaho and attended grade school there. He graduated high school from Butte County High School in Arco, Idaho in 1952. He worked on the family farm until he joined the Army and got married in 1955. He was stationed and served in Germany. After his service ended in 1962, he went to work as a laborer in construction where he joined the labor union and served as shop steward for a time and continued as a union member until his death. He was previously married to Dorothea Coram and together they had 3 children. He married Mae Lois Cordon on February 27, 1987. They had 28 wonderful years together and were inseparable. The family wishes to thank Encompass Home Health & Hospice and Brookdale of Chubbuck for all their assistance, dedication and compassion as Lloyd moved through this final phase of this life. Lloyd belonged to the AFLCIO and the Laborers International Union of North America. He enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, hobby radio communications, traveling and collecting pocketknives. Lloyd is survived by his wife, Mae C. Smith, Chubbuck, ID; children, Calvin Lloyd Smith, Portland, OR, Daryl Gene (Shirley) Smith, St. Helens, OR, Janette Rae (Kirk) Smith-Jones, Mesa, AZ; step-daughters, Connie (Mike) Terry, Chubbuck, ID, Carol (Jim) Facer, Pocatello, ID; brothers Dale Ellis Smith, Moore, ID, and Marvin Gene Smith, Moore, ID; 14 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jewell Joseph Smith and Priscilla Iona Aldredge-Smith. A graveside memorial, with military honors, will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Mountain View Cemetery, 1520 S. 5 th Ave. Pocatello, Idaho 83204.
