POCATELLO " Maisie G Hill, 93, passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 22, 2009 at a local care facility. Maisie was born to Dode and Nellie Gautier, on October 19, 1915 at the mouth of Fourth of July Creek near Salmon, ID. She, and her brother Ted, were raised on the ranch and graduated from Salmon High School. After graduation she moved to Pocatello and attended Links Business College.

After a six-year courtship Maisie married John Hill, a local Salmon boy. They were married on November 14, 1937, in the First Presbyterian Church in Pocatello. They resided in Salmon, until relocating to Seattle, Washington, during World War II. Returning to Pocatello in 1945, they have called Pocatello home since. Here they raised their daughters Shirley and Janet.

Maisie and John were charter members of the Pocatello Gems Good Sam club and enjoyed many years traveling in their RV, and the associations that they made all over the country. Maisie was a volunteer at the hospital with the Women's Auxiliary and received many awards for her many years of service. She was a homemaker, cook, seamstress, a supermom, grandma, and great-grandma.

Their family grew with the addition of two son-in-laws, when Shirley married John Libra, and Janet married Orville ‘Sonny' Caster. They finally had their sons!! Then came the four grandchildren, Shirley's kids, Jeff, Kristie, and John T., and Janet's daughter Kerri. Then came even more boys with the addition of four great-grandsons: AJ, Ted, Brandon, & Josh. Finally the girls were outnumbered!

Maisie was preceded in death by; her husband John, her parents, her brother, Ted, and a granddaughter, Kristie.
