Marcella Shoyo

Marcella Jean Preacher, Mosho, Shoyo, 70, began her journey to the creator in the spirit world on Sunday, April 13, 2014. She was born on March 6, 1944 to Olah Wadzese and Wilson Preacher in Pocatello, Idaho. She was married to Tommy Mosho and thru this union they had 7 daughters. After they divorced, she married Dennison Frank Shoyo on May 13, 1988. She was a member of the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes and Native American Church. She was baptized at the Fort Hall Episcopal Church in her younger years. She was a firm believer in the Sundance and our traditions. Marcella was an excellent bead worker creating beautiful works of art. She also did Buckskin hides, gloves, moccasins and other beaded items. Her bead work was placed in the Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C. She spent time traveling, being at the Casino, laughing with friends, and enjoyed being with family and her grandchildren. She attended schools at Fort Hall Elementary, Blackfoot Jr. High and Blackfoot High school. Marcella worked seasonal jobs during potato harvest, and at Lamb Weston. When she wasn't working, she supported her family through her beadwork. She had taught her bead working skills to her daughters and grand-daughters. Through her example, they each have their own bead working talents. She is survived by Daughters; Rozella L. Mosho, Pauline (Aaron) Tindore, Connie (David) Cerino, Verlene Mosho, Leanna (Jack) Chapple, Half Sisters; Vivian Wahtomy, Charlene Wahtomy, Velma Wahtomy, Joyce Wahtomy, and Marilyn Wahtomy, Half Brothers; Ernest Wahtomy, Willie Preacher, and Lloyd Preacher, Grand children; Jacob Chemada, Gardell Adakai, Eli Thomas Mosho, Willie Mosho, Ember Mosho, Comfort Mosho, Angela Nevarez, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, daughters, Sheila Al Mosho, Theodora Mosho, Grandson, William Gould, and half-sister, Evelyn Wheeler. Traditional viewing will take place at her home on Ellsworth and Siler Road from Tuesday April 15, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. until tribal services on Thursday April 17, 2014.
