Michael James Wilcox

December 16, 1987 — April 14, 2017

Michael James Wilcox, 29, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, April 14, 2017. He was born December 16, 1987 to Forrest Beach Wilcox and Bonnie Mae Wilcox. He was the 6 th child for the couple. Michael grew up in Pocatello. He attended Montessori School at Bonneville, Wilcox elementary, the Pocatello Charter School, Hawthorne Middle school and graduated from Pocatello High School. Michael was a kind hearted person and loved his family. He had many friends in his younger years. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and participated in the scouting program. He enjoyed swimming, wakeboarding, snowboarding, camping and fishing. He also enjoyed reading, playing board games and Texas holdem. Michael, along with Brenton Wilcox, started a business called Wilcox Tactical where they sold knives. He wanted to marry and have a family but he never met the right girl. Michael was a tremendous help to his family. Our hearts are broken because of his death and words cannot express how deeply we feel his loss. Michael was our bright and shining star and we pray for the day when we will be reunited with him. He was preceded in death by his brother, Nathan Forrest Wilcox; paternal grandparents, Arden and Betty Wilcox; maternal grandparents, Floyd and Bernadine Hansen; and a niece, Lillie Findlay. Michael is survived by his parents; sisters, Candice Kaye (David) Lindly, Kristie Anne (Joe) Findlay, Amber (Jesse) Culbertson, Emily Elizabeth (Beau) Shaffer; and many nieces and nephews who all loved him. Our lives are forever changed and we will miss this young man who was a bright spot in our home. Rest well our beautiful son. We will see you again someday. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 21, 2017 from 6-8 pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4 th Ave. Pocatello, ID.
