Misty Rose Waterman

April 9, 1992 — March 4, 2023

Misty Rose Waterman (30), who preferred to be called “Misty Danielle Condron,” passed away on March 4, 2023, at Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello. No services will be held at this time.

Misty Danielle was the sweetest, kindest, most loving person anyone could ever hope to meet. Literally everyone who took the time to get to know her loved her. She was just that kind of bubbly, cheerful and encouraging person. In fact, despite the pain of pneumonia, one of her last acts was to tell one of her nurses at Portneuf Medical Center, “Good job!”

Misty Danielle was quite the “girly girl.” She loved her jewelry, and to have her hair done and nails painted, but she also liked horseback riding, swimming, fishing, and riding roller coasters and other carnival rides. She enjoyed going to the fair and to Lagoon. She loved riding the tram up and down the mountain at Jackson Hole, though she could live without the cold air at the top. She couldn’t wait to drive the tractor when her dad mowed the lawn. She was fascinated by trains. She even tried rock climbing with CW-HOGG! She delighted in seeing plays (especially musicals) at the Palace Theater in Chubbuck.

She enjoyed shopping, especially for gifts for others. She really loved birthdays; especially her own. Halloween was her favorite holiday because she loved dressing up and being scared. She loved to listen to music; her favorite song was Don McLean’s “American Pie.” One of her favorite places was the Pocatello Zoo, of which she was a member. She spent many happy hours there, viewing the “wolves” (really coyotes) and the bears. In lieu of flowers, we would appreciate contributions in her honor to the Zoo Idaho Zoological Society.

Misty Danielle loved school and had many happy memories of the ISU Early Learning Center, Hillcrest Elementary School, and American Falls Middle and High schools. Right to the end of her life, she talked often of the teachers, aides, cafeteria ladies and students who were so kind to her.

Misty Danielle was loved and cherished by her Aunt Cindy Ankenman (of Caldwell) and her Uncle Dan Lemmons (of Pocatello), who raised her to the age of seven when their circumstances changed. Debbi and John Condron were so lucky when her “Momma Cindy” selected them to care for her precious baby. They did so for the rest of her life.

Momma Debbi’s family welcomed Misty Danielle with open arms, so she never lacked for family. In addition to those named above, she will be missed by her Aunt Alayne Grieve and her Uncle Monte Washburn, both of Winnemucca, NV, and her cousins, Tanya, Chandler and Bradley Grieve, and Cheyenne, Brooklyn, Atlas and Thayer Grieve. Misty Danielle is predeceased by her “Grampa Willie” Washburn, her Aunt Carolyn Washburn, her Uncle John Grieve, and her cousin, John William Grieve, all of Winnemucca, NV.

Misty Danielle had many friends. Too many for us to name here, but we want to acknowledge Danielle Cage as well as Sue and Ron Olsen, Paula Brower, Steve Miner and Joe Workman, all of whom went out of their way to make her feel loved. We also want to acknowledge Jill Merica, who not only taught her to swim, but also stayed in touch after she moved to South Dakota. One of Misty Danielle’s most cherished possessions was a “blanky” Jill sent her during one of her hospitalizations.

Misty Danielle had medical problems all her life. We would like to thank the University of Utah Medical Center for their excellent care over the last few years, as well as the nurses, doctors and staff at the Portneuf Medical Center Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit and Progressive Care Unit, for their valiant efforts to save her life, and their compassionate care when it became clear that would not be possible.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in her name to the Pocatello Zoo Society.

Good Job, Danielle.  You are daddy's hero!
