Nila May Toone passed away March 19, 2019, at Saint Alphonsus Hospital in Boise, ID. She was born July 29, 1934 in Portland, Oregon to George and Edythe Lichty. Nila was the older sister to her only sibling George Lichty. She attended Hillsboro High School in Hillsboro, Oregon and graduated in 1952. She married Norman C Olsen and together they had a daughter, Rena Rae. Later they divorced. She worked briefly for an attorney in Salem, Oregon before marrying Albert H (Bud) Sickinger. Nila and Bud had a daughter Lori Lynn and a son Robert Todd. Early in their marriage they moved frequently for Buds job as an air traffic controller. They lived briefly in Pocatello from 1963 to 1965 then moved to Lancaster, California and Silverton, Idaho before moving back to Pocatello in 1968. They were later divorced. In March of 1973 Nila married the love of her life, Byron J Toone. They were married for 36 years until his death in 2009. Nila worked at the Idaho Department of Labor and also for Pocatello School District #25. Nila went to work in 1974 for Mountain Bell while they were located in Pocatello. She then moved to Boise to continue working for Mountain Bell. Byron commuted to Boise until he retired and then joined her in Boise. She retired from Mountain Bell after working for them for several years. Nila enjoyed music, singing, travelling, shopping and visiting with her children and grandchildren. Nila is survived by her children, Rena Rae (David) Ferguson, Lori Lynn (Robert) Stewart, and Robert Todd Sickinger; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, George C. and Edythe Lichty; brother, George A. Lichty; and her husband, Byron Toone. Services will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 2 pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4 th Ave. Pocatello, ID. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, 1520 S. 5 th Ave. Pocatello, ID.
