Phyllis Marjorie Moon, 103, passed away June 18, 2021 at her home. Phyllis was born October 26, 1917 in Boise, Idaho. She attended schools in the Ustick area, then graduated from Boise High School and later attended Idaho State College.
Phyllis married William Neal Moon July 29, 1936 in the LDS Logan Temple. Phyllis was a full-time mother and homemaker. She was also a member of the “Daughters of the Utah Pioneers” (DUP). She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various capacities, including Relief Society, Spanish Branch, Primary, and Family History, and she also served on a mission to Wales.
She loved to garden and shared her crops with many. She loved to grow flowers and she was also an election poll worker for many elections. She was also an excellent cook and skilled at canning.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Lula Castle; her husband, William Neal Moon; stepmother, Doll Castle; daughter, Eileen Moon; and two brothers, Raymond and Dan Castle.
She is survived by three daughters, Phyllis Marie Baker, Beverly Randall, and Elaine Moon; 4 sons, Marvin Moon, Daryl (Terri) Moon, Merlin (Marie) Moon, and Merrill (Jill) Moon; 25 grandchildren, and 65 great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, June 27, 2021 from 5-7 pm at Colonial Chapel, 2005 S. 4th Ave. Pocatello.
Funeral services will be at 11 am on Monday, June 28, 2021 at the Pocatello LDS 52nd ward building, 1700 W. Kinghorn Road, Pocatello, with a viewing one hour prior to the services.
Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, 1520 S. 5th Ave. Pocatello.
