Richard Alan Harbour

Richard (Rick) Alan Harbour passed away on March 22, 2024.


He was born in Pasco, Washington in 1949, to Phyllis Akiyama. Rick was raised in Las Vegas , Nevada, and joined the Air Force during the Vietnam War. In his early twenties, he moved to Pocatello, Idaho and married his first wife (Kathy) and had two children. He started at Union Pacific Railroad 1973 and retired proudly after 34 years as an engineer in 2009. He was honored to be a part of the Brotherhood of Locamotive Engineers.


In 1990, he met the love of his life, Patty Harbour, and son Ben. Rick and Patty were married in 1993. They enjoyed 33 years together, spending time with their wonderful family, and many adventures around the globe. He was a beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and son. He found great joy in being an active part of his children and grandchildren's lives.


Rick was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis Akiyama, and is survived by his loving wife, Patty Harbour, his children, Jesse Harbour (spouse Toni Harbour), Vanessa Harbour Bejarano (spouse Michael Bejarano), Ben McCarter (spouse Guillermina Carreto McCarter) as well as six grandchildren, Johanna Harbour, Noelle Harbour, Maisie Bejarano, Ashley Leon-Carreto, Connor Carreto McCarter, and Felix Carreto McCarter.


A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, March 29, 2024, at 1:00pm, at Wilks Colonial Chapel (2005 S. 4th Ave., Pocatello, ID). Greeting the family begins at 12:30pm. In lieu of flowers, it would be appreciated to make a donation to Worlds Central Kitchen in his name.
