Richard Terry Cox

September 2, 1942 — February 5, 2020

Richard "Terry" Cox known to his friends as "Shultz", husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather left this world to join his Lord and Savior after losing a valiant fight with cancer on February 5,2020, surrounding by family. Terry was born on September 2, 1942 in Boise, ID to Glenn H. and Verdis Cox. Terry was the first born and patriarch of the Cox family. In the spring of 1943, grandpa moved them back to the farm in Oxford, ID, where he was raised until he was in high school when his dad moved the family to Pocatello. After graduating from Pocatello High School in 1963 he joined the United States Army and served his country from May 1960 – May 1963, serving most of his military life in Germany. Terry married the love of his life Dorothy on January 3, 1964. They began their married life in a basement apartment down the street from the home he grew up in. He started his working career alongside his brother -in-law and longtime friend Tom Bowman at Petersons furniture. He then went to work at McKenzies parts store for a short time. Then to Hills Brother until 1974 when he started at Ted's Chrysler in the parts department as parts manager until his retirement in 2006.

Terry had one daughter Tammie Cox (Michael) Hoff, two sons Richard "Casey" (Shelley) Cox, Shaune T. (Annie) Cox, five grandchildren Crystal Hoff (Mathew) Gibson, Brady M. Hoff, Bailey A. Cox, Richard "Dalton" Cox, Terry Juanito (TJ) Cox, and his only great granddaughter Grace Elora Gibson.

He had a love for the Lord that he loved to share with others with his bible teaching in his home.

He enjoyed coaching, refereeing his kids and grandkids, the special joy he had in his life was watching his kids and grandchildren play sports and play in the marching bands.

He loved the outdoors spending time with family and friends hunting, fishing and archery shoots.

He was a proud man never asked for anything, always did it on his own, stubborn to a fault wouldn't ask for help when help was needed, but there to help others when help was needed, which he passed on to his kids.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy M. Cox, his daughter Tammie Cox (Michael) Hoff, sons Richard "Casey" (Shelley) Cox, Shaune T. (Annie) Cox, Cory (Kathy) Cox, grandchildren Crystal Hoff (Mathew) Gibson, Brady M. Hoff, Bailey A. Cox, Richard "Dalton" Cox, Terry Juanito (TJ) Cox, and his great granddaughter Grace Elora Gibson. His brothers Craig Cox, Scott Cox, and Cory Cox, sister Sandy (Wayne) Skelton. He was preceded in death by his father Glenn H. Cox, mother Verdis Bloxham Cox, sister Carla Cox Neimier, and Jeff Cox.
