He was an only child of Virginia although he later found a brother, Mack McGregor by his dad. He was preceded in death by his brother and by his oldest son. He was divorced and married Conleth (Connie) Halbakken in 1961. Their marriage blended two families and together they had their daughter, Linda Waters (Keith). After the Navy he worked at X-raying pipelines all over the US. He was a mail carrier in Seattle, Washington, he became a Journeyman carpenter, a chef, a restaurant owner, and his last jobs were in sales. He loved cooking and did pretty much all the cooking once he married Connie. Gardening, carpentry, and fishing were also passions of his. When Bob lived in Seattle, he planted acre of all kinds of beautiful flowers which the kids then sold for spending money. When he lived in Grangeville, it was strawberries and once again the kids picked and sold for spending money. After Bob and Connie both retired, they started spending their winters in Needles, California. They did this for a total of 16 years and made a lot of friends all over the US and Canada, many whom remain friends today. Bob was a member of Good Shephard Lutheran Church in Pocatello, ID.
