Robert Lee Young, 65, passed away June 20, 2013 due to injuries sustained in a four wheeler accident. Rob was born June 26, 1947 in Soda Springs, Idaho, son of Howard and Irene Young. He grew up on a ranch in Thatcher, Idaho and attended schools in Grace graduating from Grace High School in 1965. After high school he attended Ricks College and then later served a mission for the LDS Church in the Northern States Mission. When he returned from his mission he attended BYU and finished a bachelor's degree in business management. While at BYU he was also a member of the ROTC program. Upon graduating from BYU he was commissioned into the Air Force by his father-in-law Gerald Dye. Robert honorably served during the Vietnam War era. He married Sherry Dye on June 6, 1969 in the LDS Idaho Falls Temple. Robert was a lifelong member of the LDS Church. Robert was a High Priest and an Eagle Scout. He lived by the motto "Be Prepared". Robert is survived by his wife Sherry of Pocatello, Kevin (Serena) Young, Phoenix, Arizona, Nikki (Dale) Jones, Nampa, Idaho, Adam (Kathy) Young, Caldwell, Idaho, Jordon (Richard) Corley, Kemmerer, Wyoming, Ben (Valerie) Young, Terreton, Idaho, grandchildren: Melyssa, Rachel, Kenda, Danika, Aspen, Charlotte, Oaklynn, EmmaLee, Birch, James, John, three siblings: Dale Young, Glenn (Linda) Young, Carol (Crae) Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jun 28, 2013 at the Highland 2nd Ward chapel, located at 2925 Michelle Street, with Bishop Rod Eggleston, officiating. Family will receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial will follow at the Thatcher cemetery.
