Robert Stanley White, 75, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 28 at his home in Kamiah, Idaho.
The son of Francis Ruth Traughber and Horace Hudson White, Robert was born in Corona California on October 16, 1946. He graduated from the University of California Riverside. He then served as a United States Marine Officer honorably until June 1973.
Robert moved to Idaho to pursue a career with the Idaho Fish & Game, until going to work for the Union Pacific Railroad.
RS, Robert, Bob, worked for Union Pacific Railroad as an Engineer from 1973 until his retirement in 2015.
Robert was deeply devoted to his church and served many hours caring for friends and members. Most recently he served as Head Elder at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Kamiah, ID.
Robert is survived by his daughter Allishia Sanford (Rick), his grandchildren Holis and Harper, his sister Fran Whitton (Dave) and their children, and his step-children Greg Mitchell (Kim), Stephanie Palagi (Shane), Mark Thomson (Casey), Sara Thomson, and their children and his pups Tzipi & Max.
Many happy memories were made over the years at Disneyland, at backyard BBQs, road trips to Albuquerque, Harley rides with friends, hunting, fishing and enjoying the outdoors. Robert enjoyed long walks along the Clearwater River.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 27 at 2:00pm at Wilk’s Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Rd, followed by interment at Mountain View Cemetery with Military Honors.
